Due to the fact that most developed countries had an already well-established sales network of European and American manufacturers, Toyota decided to look toward the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America. In these regions, the Land Cruiser's suitability to bad road conditions together with its international competitiveness allowed for the steady increase in its popularity that has since expanded to every region around the world.
